Dream… ever wake up
Late at night, I was asleep, sharing a dreamful bed with a purring grey cat. Unexpected, I found myself with eyes wide open, staring out the window. Therefore, late at night I was awake, sharing a dreamful bed with a… the purring grey cat wasn’t there. I quickly jumped up and looked around me: the room had an unusual geometric shape, but it was quiet and maybe a little too dark… with no track of a cat inside. Through the confusion, the next thing I remember was a goat-hair coat, too large to be mine, which I was wearing while trying to get outside the room.
Just before my first move, a telephone rang… once… then twice. At the third calling, I was holding the receiver in my hand without any idea of what I was supposed to do with it. I looked at it intensively as a faraway voice kept telling me something in an unfamiliar language… then finally I hanged up and went outside.
As soon as I left the building, my sight was filled with a deep and dark sea. While I was heading towards the water, I felt that something was not right. I stopped…I made another step, suddenly I stopped again…, and I listened. I couldn’t hear a single sound. As I continued my walk getting closer to the sea, my eyes were captured by the dark and quiet waves, which seemed to be frozen.
Frozen was also the air I was breathing, the ground I’ve stepped on, the lonely man sitting on the shore…I looked at him speaking to me in an unfamiliar language. No, I could not understand so he turned his words off. We stared one at the other and we kept doing that until my mouth opened. However, no word could be heard coming out of it as the sea suddenly came to life. For the third time, he tried to tell me something in his unfamiliar language, when a solitary wave hit us.
Later, when I woke up, a dim shadow was covering my face and it was quiet again. As I opened my eyes, I could now recognize the face staring at me: it was the purring grey cat, who shares the dreamful bed with me.
